Recent street session in Paris.  The song is from the album, "Cold Fact" (1970).  Cold facts, indeed.

Morphine - You Look Like Rain

OK, mother's day cards are in the mail.  But for the mother of my own children, the woman I live with, I'd like to say, "I can tell you taste like the sky cause you look like rain."

Morphine - French Fries with Pepper

Saw Morphine live in San Francisco in the mid 90s, not too long before Mark Sandman collapsed and died while performing.  Definitely a NOLA flavor in the "low rock" sound here.

Sixto Rodriguez - Hate Street Dialogue

Rodriguez is a Detroit native, whose recent visibility owes something to the internet and digital sampling.  Long rumored to be dead, his music only really found an audience in Australia and South Africa (odd!) until his old songs began to get picked up by DJs. A documentary on his long, strange (still, ongoing) career comes out this summer ("Searching for Sugar Man").
